Sam Burns maintained his lead with a 3-under 69 Saturday in the third round of the ATT Byron Nelson in McKinney, Texas.
Burns sits at 20 under and holds a one-shot lead over K.H. Lee heading into Sunday's final round at TPC Craig Ranch. Lee fired a 5-under 67 and will be paired with Burns in the final round.
Four players are tied for third at 17 under, three shots back of Burns. Jordan Spieth, Matt Kuchar and Charl Schwartzel all fired 66s for a three-round total of 199. Alexander Noren shot a 70 to join the group at 17 under.
Seamus Power (67) and Doc Redman (69) sit T7 at 16 under, four shots back.
Burns got off to a shaky start, bogeying No. 1 en route to carding two bogeys in the first six holes against two birdies. But he calmed down to play clean golf the rest of the way with three birdies. Burns shot a career-low 62 on Friday en route to the 36-hole lead.
"I told (caddie Travis Perkins), 'Man, I didn't really have my best stuff today and just left a few out there.' He's like, 'Yeah, but it's hard to follow up what happened yesterday.' It's important to remember that," Burns said. "You know if I feel like if I didn't have my best and was able to shoot 3-under, I'm proud of the way we battled out there. I think the golf course played a little tougher with the wind today, I think personally. So, yeah, all in all solid day."
Lee birdied four holes on the back nine and five overall to shadow Burns into the final round.
"We have more holes, 18 holes, so never think about win, so no pressure myself and just keep positive and play golf and then we see," Lee said.
Harris English and Scott Stalling both fired 63s for the low rounds of the day. Both moved 44 spots up the leaderboard and are tied for ninth with four other players.
Burns, 24, won the Valspar Championship in Palm Harbor, Fla., two weeks ago for his first PGA Tour title. He could become the first player to capture his first two wins on the tour in consecutive starts since Colombia's Camilo Villegas did so in the 2008 BMW Championship and Tour Championship.
