CO MAYO, Ireland - Strange images from a Mayo church have gone viral online, with some claiming a miracle occurred during Sunday mass on June 19, 2022.
The bizarre incident, which has thousands of people talking online, occurred at St. Joseph's Church in Aghamore, near Knock.
According to the image in the viral Facebook post, the minister who was saying mass at the local church dropped a piece of Communion bread on the floor.
He picked it up, placed it in a glass of water to dissolve it, and when he returned, it was covered in a blood-like substance.
He allegedly added more water and then left it, returning to find it had "taken on the appearance of bloody flesh."
"A Eucharistic Minister accidentally dropped a Consecrated Host to the floor while administering Holy Communion," according to the post.
"The Indian Parish Priest placed it in a small water bowl to dissolve." When he checked it later, he discovered the water was blood-colored. He added more water and later noticed that the Host had turned into bloody flesh tissue."
Many have flocked to give their thoughts on the incident, with some seeing it as a sign from Jesus.
St. Joseph's Church has yet to respond to inquiries or publicly confirm the story.
