CO CORK, Ireland - A young woman has died following a single-vehicle collision on the N73 Mallow-Dublin Road in Co Cork.
The crash happened near Kildorrery at approximately 7:25am on Sunday.
The woman, who was in her 20s and the sole occupant of the car, was pronounced dead at the scene. Her body has since been removed to the local mortuary, where a post-mortem examination will be carried out. The Coroner has been notified.
The N73 remained closed overnight between Kildorrery Village and the R522 to allow Garda Forensic Collision Investigators to conduct a technical examination of the scene. Local diversions were put in place.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area where possible and expect delays.
Anyone who witnessed the collision or who travelled on the N73 between 7:00am and 7:30am on Sunday morning is being asked to come forward. Dashcam footage from the area at the time could also be of use to investigators.
