TEL AVIV, Israel - Lieutenant General Ingo Gerhartz, Chief of the German Air Force, visited Israel this week in his final official trip before stepping down after seven years in command. The visit underscored the strong defense ties between the two nations.
During his stay, General Gerhartz toured communities near the Gaza border, observed key Israeli defense industries, and held meetings with Israeli Air Force Commander Maj. Gen. Tomer Bar. The discussions focused on deepening military cooperation between Germany and Israel.
The trip highlighted Gerhartz's longstanding commitment to strengthening operational, technological, and strategic collaboration between the two air forces. His tenure has been marked by close defense partnerships, including joint exercises and intelligence-sharing initiatives.
As Gerhartz prepares to hand over command, his visit reaffirms the enduring alliance between Germany and Israel in security and defense.
