NEW YORK CITY, New York: Pfizer is close to striking a US$7.3 billion deal to acquire anti-obesity drugmaker Metsera, according to a Financial Times report on September 21 citing unnamed sources.
The U.S. pharmaceutical giant would pay $47.50 in cash per Metsera share, with an additional $22.50 tied to performance milestones, the report said. An announcement could come as early as this week.
The report could not be immediately confirmed. Neither Pfizer nor Metsera responded to requests for comment outside regular business hours.
